Strike a pose, there's nothing to it.....oh wait what??

There is most definitely something to it! There were no Vogue moves today at my first posing practice! Yes, today was my first meeting with my coach Amie since starting this journey to my first bikini fitness competition. I have to say, she is just awesome. First we discussed my meal plan, what I like and what I'd like to change. Overall I am happy with my meal plan and I am learning to get a bit more creative! We also discussed my workout regime....and my frustration that being over two weeks in I don't feel I'm seeing results like I was hoping for. Being 35 and having four kids and one being just 10 months old, this body isn't just toning up like it use to in my 20's. I do like when I'm working out and lifting weights that I can see more definition in my arms and shoulders. That's pretty awesome. But, Amie did go and bump up my cardio time. So, it's looking like longer gym sessions. That's not a bad thing, I enjoy working out. Although my meal plan hasn't been perfect everyday, I feel like  I have done pretty good overall! It's getting easier everyday and meal prep time has been cut in half. It doesn't like I'm making Thanksgiving dinner for 30 when I prep anymore!! Haha
So, we did our first posing session as well. I thought I'd be nervous doing something that I have never ever done before and had NO idea what to expect. But I wasn't nervous at all. Amie is so chill and patient that I didn't feel like "OMG.....I suck!" Sure, I felt awkward at times especially watching her and how her body just moves in to positions so naturally, but I know this is going to take work and practice. I need to work on the whole "Smile!" thing as well... I tend to over think and concentrate and look like a serious bitch instead of a happy woman walking on stage with confidence. I'm so stoked I met with Amie today. It made me even more pumped about what the future holds. This is going to be a life changing experience!!
I did receive a pretty cool private message via FB the other day. A woman that came across my blog by using Google! She entered "bikini competitors in Atascadero" and boom! There was my blog. She was super sweet and supportive and looking forward to following me. I LOVE that! To inspire other women is part of my mission while enduring this journey. Even if I only impact one person, my mission will be complete....well, not totally, changing my lifestyle to continue to be healthy even after competing AND placing IN my competition.... once that is all done THEN my mission will be complete. Well. Maybe...
