Just throwing in a badass hot chick for those of you with a short attention span. #goals
Okay, so why "Tan. LIFT, and Ammunition"? If you go back to the previous post, I break it down for you. But, let me just give it to you again, with a bit more detail.... TAN: well duh. I have my own tanning business, inTANsified Mobile Air Brush Tanning. I started my business in September 2014. Why? Because I love that with just a simple spray tan I can make someone feel so much better about themselves. That in 10 minutes someone can go from feeling totally insecure, to feeling like they can go and conquer anything they put their mind to. For those of you who don't spray tan, that don't go in tanning beds and don't care to lay in the sun, this might sound totally lame and think I am bullshitting you. But for real, there is just something about being tan that gives you a crazy boost of confidence. Now, spray tanning isn't just for these 20 something year olds with perfect bodies. I tan all ages, shapes and sizes. ANYONE can rock a spray tan! Starting this business is probably one of the best decisions I've ever made. I went into it with no expectations, and who knew that each month my business has grown tremendously. I book out a month in advance. I'm tanning wedding parties and brides weekly and I may need to consider hiring an assistant as I have not been able to accommodate last minute tans lately. I dislike turning people a way, but in the business aspect, it's a good problem to have considering I have quite a huge availability to tan. (M-F 12:30pm-9pm, all day Saturday and by special appointment only on Sunday). I hardly have to advertise now, as my clients referrals are keeping me extremely busy (they rock!). I can proudly say that all the advertising I do is pictures of my actual clients and well known faces in the community. I love my inTANsified family and can't thank them enough for their loyalty and support. So, that sums up the TAN part of my name.
Some of my gorgeous brides and bridesmaids.
On to LIFT. Because not only do I want to make others feel amazing with a spray tan, but if I can motivate and inspire others to find a passion and kick ass at it, then I'm continuing to do what I love! My passion has been found in the fitness world. I didn't find it until I was in my 30's! Of course I wish I had discovered this love for being strong and healthy a long, long time ago, but I am proof that it's never too late to find a passion and put everything you've got into it! I wouldn't have discovered this love for lifting weights if it wasn't for Scott. He started teaching me and created a monster. Some people need help out of their comfort zone of the treadmill and classes but are intimidated by weights and these popular "crossfit" type workouts. I once was that person and now it takes every ounce of motivation to get me to do cardio. No cardio. WEIGHTS! That basically sums up the LIFT part of my name. It's a passion. Find something you love and go for it. Others will see how happy it makes you and be inspired.

Okay, and last Ammunition. Originally it represented the fuel I need in my body to kick ass at everything I do. No, not the Ben and Jerrys or the pizza, but the healthy, clean eating that one day I hope won't always be such a struggle. I can't reach my ultimate goals eating the way I do, no matter how hard I go at the gym. Even doing two workouts a day will not get me to where I want to be if I continue on the road of mediocre healthy eating. I want to help and inspire others, stopping at the grocery store daily to pick up my Salted Carmel Core Ben and Jerry's is clearly not going to help anyone else reach their goals. Recently I came across another quote that made me look at the use of ammunition in a different perspective as well:
Word. I struggle with not only diet but also many other insecurities. I never make excuses...okay, maybe occasionally I find a "reason" to buy ice cream, but no longer will I be doing that. It will just be adding fuel to the fire to kill everything that I do. My ammunition to keep me going. To prove to myself that I can do anything I put my mind to, but I have to WANT it bad enough. There. That's my ammunition.
The other subject I wanted to touch base on "Why do I have a Facebook Public Figure Page"? This hasn't ever been asked, but I imagine that it may have crossed the minds of some of the people in my life. Originally it was JUST a local business page for my tanning business. Cool. It gave my clients a website to go to and get some info and see pictures of my clients. But as my love for the fitness world grew, and I began to blog about my journey, the amount of interest and feedback from people I know and people that I will most likely never meet was amazing. I was truly in awe that people were actually reading what I had to say and fellow gym members were watching me workout and being inspired. I decided I wanted to reach out to people in more ways and found that converting my page into a "Public Figure" page didn't limit my audience to just locals that wanted a spray tan, but instead a whole world of people that could relate to my story. I recently had to start a fresh page as for some reason my other one began receiving a lot of Spam. This time I am doing what I can to avoid that. I'm putting myself out there for the world to see. No, I'm not famous. Is that ultimately my goal? Nope. My goal is to inspire others. To make others see that you CAN succeed but you can't give up when you hit a wall. Knock it down, or climb over it. But never turn around and walk back the way you came. There are no dead ends. This page gives others a chance to know me and what I'm all about. There is no sugar coating in my life. What you see is what you get. I live in workout clothes 90% of my life. When I go to tanning appointments, most likely I am in my Give Fitness shirt and chucks. I do not put on business attire and have a fancy set up. I figure, my clients are wearing no makeup and half naked, clearly they don't care if I'm not dress to the 9's. I pop up my tent and get their tan on. I love that my clients have become my friends and I look forward to seeing them. My page is my real life. No negative Nelly posts but occasional foul language may occur! Not saying my life is perfect and I never have anything negative to say, but there are plenty of other sites and groups you can join to read and vent about how rotten your children are, how lazy your husband is, how much your job sucks or the ever so annoying, attention seeking post (Example: Bitches need to recognize!) those kind always crack me up. That's not me. No need to share the dirty laundry with the world...besides the struggle with eating crap. That YOU need to hear to understand what I go through daily. If you WANT to heart about how sometimes I think about putting my kids on the FREE ads, or that its a "Fireball" kind of night because something pissed me off...well, just let me know, I have those moments just like you! I'm not living the Facebook Fake-Life, I'm just thinking there is enough negative in this world and my lack of patience with my own children is hardly enough reason to put it on blast for the world to see. There are people dying peeps...because your husband left some dishes in the sink is hardly the end of the world. Oops.....am I ranting? So, there you have it. I have a "Public Figure" page to use as my business website as well as a motivational, fitness and healthy living page. This was a long paragraph and I may have lost some of you along the way because there was no picture to break it up. My bad.
For real though. Don't worry so much about what others think. I use to hesitate every time I posted a video of a workout, I was nervous about creating a page involving fitness and healthy living. I didn't want others to think I thought I was some kind of expert. I'm not. I learn something new everyday. But, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that eating right and staying active will help you live a healthy life. I don't feel comfortable giving advice to someone on eating habits and workouts, but I can share what I'm doing and what works and doesn't work for me. Everyone is different. I'd like to become a certified personal trainer to help me feel more comfortable speaking to others about this lifestyle, but I'm a firm believer that a certificate still does not make you an expert. Education in fitness and nutrition should always continue as it changes all the time. Take advantage of all your resources. I feel that there are some people that are not certified that are more knowledgeable than some that are.... Once certified what would my plan be? Not sure yet. I am 100% content running the Kid Care program at Give Fitness. I think just growing my knowledge all the time will be beneficial for me in so many ways. Stay tuned......maybe, just maybe Scott and I have some ideas!! When do we NOT have ideas though??
Whew, thanks for reading all that! I'm going to leave you with a link to our latest Boulders and Booty YouTube video. It is a fun one! Good music, workouts and some pics from our trip to the San Jose Fit Expo. Check it out!! If you have never attended one of these, you should. You leave so motivated and ready to hit the ground running!
