Find a passion and go with it, even if it drives others crazy.

Alright. So, I'm pushing almost a month since my last blog. This is becoming a habit. This habit ends today. I'm going for daily blogs. Somehow, someway, I'm going to try. Here's the thing though, along with blogging about life, it will also be my workout journal. I tend to post my workouts on my Facebook page and Public profile page, sometimes in Scott's Elite Power and Strength Facebook page, but from now on, I'll be putting it all in my blog. The reason I "check in" at the gym or post my workouts is not just to motivate others, but to hold myself accountable. I'm PROUD of what I am accomplishing. I have been doing "two-a-day" workouts now for about two weeks. That's A LOT to put in a FB post and maybe too many check-ins at the gym for some. Some may think I'm boasting about what I'm doing, some may think its annoying and others really couldn't give two shits. Funny though, it wasn't THAT long ago that we didn't have the means to discuss our workout with the world, to share pictures of our healthy dinner or to show progress pictures of our weight loss journey. That's the beauty of social media. You can share your children's accomplishments, the new car you just bought, pictures from your wedding and honeymoon, and for many, entrepreneurs have become extremely successful! Yes, I do think social media can also cause problems for some (but I've already blogged about that) but if you use it right, it's a great tool. So, why the "stop bragging about your kids grades" "don't share your accomplishments" "Lucky you, we can't all afford to by a home" "big deal, you're at the gym" "so what, you're getting stronger". I mean seriously, everywhere you turn, there's someone negative complaining about something you posted. Stop being evil. Stop being jealous. Stop feeling like you're in a competition with everyone. Stop trolling people. We can see that you've viewed our stuff you know.... Why have any type of social media account if everything people post bugs you? From drooling babies, to making millions.
Hey, here's my awesome, smart kids on their first day of school!

Anyway, rant over. I'm sounding like every other negative person out there! Haha Since my last post, here's where I'm at. I completed my first trial week at our local CrossFit box, Atascadero CrossFit. OMG. I am HOOKED! Absolutely loved it. And as of yesterday I am an official member! My workout schedule looks something like this: six days a weeks at my home gym Give Fitness and five days a week at CrossFit. This will officially start next week so we will see how it goes. Yes, I can count and I know there are only seven days in a week, remember, I have been doing two-a-days and so far its been awesome.

That is my fabulous friend, co-worker and now CrossFit buddy Cori after I completed my first ever WOD. Below is my first WOD. Notice "box jumps" were on there! What a way to break me in! What an accomplished feeling I felt when I was done!

Here are my completed WODs that I did at ACF do far. When I couldn't get into ACF, Cori and I would complete a WOD at Give:
1st: EMOM: 21 min
Min #1 8 reps Bulgarian split squats
Min #2 30 sec handstand
Min #3 200m sprint

2nd: Double Tabata (40 sec on 20 sec rest x4)
Row for calories
Slam balls
Shoulder to overhead
Russian KB swing

3rd: Warm up to squats to Bring Sally Up (song)
EMOM 14 minutes
Odd min 3 hanging squat snatch
3 OH squat
Even min 6x box jumps
20 double under/40 singles

Starting today I will be logging both my workouts, although today will be a single day workout at Give. As it was the kids first day of school and we need to get back on routine, I didn't make it to the 5:30am WOD. I'm going to TRY and make this a food journal as well....so there will be two blogs today. Todays workout and maybe food journal. Scott and I are still going strong together with our 6 days a week workouts. Even though our fitness goals have changed, and we are going in different directions, we still have the same passion, AND we still have some big goals we are working to achieve together as well but those are top secret for now. Scott has found a love in the power lifting world and I know one day he will be competing. I have found a love for CrossFit and hope to compete in a local beginners CrossFit competition early next year.

Okay, change of plans. It is now almost 9pm and I never completed this blog and so I am going to include todays workout. Cori and I did the ACF WOD together and our friend Madison joined in. It was NOT easy:

4th: Take 10 min to work up to a heavy complex
1 power snatch + 2 OH squats
Complete for time:
Overhead squat
Box jump

My time completed: 14:35

I have to let you know, my biggest nightmare happened, on my last set of box jumps I ate shit. My left shin looks lovely. I had four more to go and I was just going to do step ups but the girls pushed me through and I busted out those last four. I think I could've cleared a taller box because I was so paranoid that I jumped extra high! Haha

As for todays food journal....ya.....lets skip that for now!!! I'll start  tomorrow. And I promise to be brutally honest with my food intake. Eek....

Now that you're all caught up with my fitness life, here's a quick update of life. Kids started school today (see photo above) and a couple summer highlights:

Swimming at Auntie and Uncles!

Dave and Busters! Family trip to San Jose for back to school shopping.

My loves. My why.

My muscle man xoxo

Recently I graduated up to the bigger box (yes, the one I ate shit on today).

When the bigs were away on vacation, we did a walk on the beach day with beasty baby!

There you have it! Stay tuned for my daily workout/food/life blog starting tomorrow....
