Is it possible to have a passion for both? I've touched base on this a bit in previous blogs, and I feel the answer is yes. Having a taste of both has made me realize what I love about each.
Ha! I admit. This is totally me these days. Poor Scott. It's all he hears about. Usually he engages in conversation with me, other times I think he is half listening, half ignoring me. But when I first started getting into Bodybuilding I was the same. Fitness is always on the mind. I can't help it.
I think I missed a day or two of blogging. Here was yesterday's WOD at ACF:
Running. Running was in the warm up and then in the WOD. I am so heavy and flat footed....my calves kill me when there is running and/or jumping involved in a workout. I'm thinking better running shoes for days like this? Currently I wear Reebok training shoes on CrossFit days, chucks on straight lifting days and Under Armour on other days. I've never owned specific running shoes, but I'm not sure that would make a big difference...
Today we had a birthday party early, and then followed it with a workout at Give.
Hence why I am in my ever so popular attire. Workout clothes. Always workout clothes. Scott did a bit of everything today while Cori and I completed a WOD from that Instagram account that we follow.
I scaled the burpee box overs for burpee box jumps. When your friend is hanging out in a handstand waiting for you to complete 10 of them, sometimes scaling is necessary! (And because jumping ON the box is scary enough, let along jumping OVER!) It was fun and we followed it with some ab work.
On to catching up with my food journal. So, like I mentioned, last week I met with Dustin, one of the owners/coaches at ACF. We discussed nutrition and goals. He sent me an email full of info as well as my goal #'s to hit. I'm learning about macros. I wanted to start right away, but it has been so busy I haven't been able to get to the grocery store. Tomorrow I'll be getting it done to start off strong on Monday. I HAVE been tracking my food on My Fitness Pal everyday though. Let me tell you, I'm definitely not eating enough. My numbers aren't even coming close to hitting my macro goals. Except for carbs, I clear that one easily. Ugh. Getting this macro thing down is going to be tricky, but I've got a great support system and I'm determined to start seeing some results!
Okay. Maybe I'm not quite there yet.... But hopefully soon. To be accurate, in reality that meme would be saying "I effin love pizza! And Oreos! And Ben and Jerry's! And mashed potatoes! With gravy!"
I've been there before.....time to get there again!! I've been on Instagram more today then I have in quite awhile, so many fit, beautiful and strong women on there that remind me that I have goals that I want to hit!
And now I will leave you with this. My own real life super hero. I get to wake up everyday next to this. I am one lucky lady. Jealous?
